I'm delighted to announce that my feature screenplay Nicoletta has been awarded the Bronze Award for Best Drama at the Tokyo Film Awards.
This recognition is a wonderful honour and marks another milestone for Nicoletta, which continues to receive international recognition.

The inspiration for the screenplay came from a moment I witnessed in Ostia a seaside town in Rome. A young girl, seemingly from a family of beggars, standing outside a church. She eventually stepped inside, only to be quickly ushered away. That brief, quiet incident stayed with me. It raised a question that would remain unresolved for years—what unseen potential might exist within a child like her, and what happens when circumstance denies that potential the chance to flourish?
"Nicoletta" is my attempt to explore that question. It is a story about hidden brilliance, neglect, and the transformative power of opportunity. Through the character of Nicoletta, I wanted to portray a child whose intellectual and emotional depth far exceeds the expectations placed upon her environment—a theme reflected early in the screenplay, where her curiosity and intelligence emerge through her relationship with books and learning. The narrative is not only about hardship, but about the quiet interventions that can alter the course of a life.
As both a writer, actor and composer, I am particularly drawn to storytelling that balances realism with emotional resonance. My multidisciplinary background allows me to approach narrative with a strong sense of rhythm, tone, and atmosphere, always with the intention of creating work that is both socially conscious and cinematically engaging.
